IBM Innovation Studios and events are high visibility, client facing environments that represent IBM’s technical credibility. Activations and studio platforms are often created by third parties and require strong IBM ownership to ensure they meet enterprise security, compliance, and operational standards. The Activations Compliance & Scaling Lead ensures these experiences can be deployed, operated, and scaled globally with confidence.
Embedded within the Showcases team, this role acts as the single IBM technical owner for all non showcase activations and studio software (e.g. Discovery Zone Hub). The focus is on governance, compliance, standardization, and lifecycle ownership—not on building or designing experiences. The role works closely with Activations, Innovation Studios Scaling, Blue Studio, IBM IT and Security, and external vendors to ensure consistent, audit ready delivery across studios and events worldwide
Your Role And Responsibilities
Compliance, Security & Governance
- Ensure activations and studio software are approved by IBM IT and Security without last‑minute remediation
- Define and enforce clear technical and security rules for third‑party vendors
- Act as the single IBM technical owner for compliance, security posture, and lifecycle management
- Ensure studio and event environments consistently pass security reviews and audits
- Establish standard, consistent metrics collection and reporting (usage, stability, availability, lifecycle health)
Platform Ownership & Standardization
- Ensure activations and studio software are IBM‑owned and hosted in IBM‑managed environments
- Standardize hosting models, access controls, and operational patterns
- Reduce long‑term dependency on vendors for fixes, updates, and compliance work
- Eliminate bespoke or one‑off solutions that cannot be supported or audited
Deployment, Updates & Scale
- Define and maintain standard deployment and update mechanisms for activations and studio platforms
- Enable global rollouts and updates across studios and events without manual local installs
- Reduce studio‑ and event‑specific exceptions and local IT troubleshooting
- Provide a clear technical interface for inbound activations from Blue Studio
Ways of Working
- Work embedded in the Showcases team using existing ways of working
- Use approved frameworks, platforms, and tooling already in place
- Avoid introducing new stacks or processes without alignment
- Produce clear, lightweight documentation aligned with team standards
- Drive simplification and standardization across the activation ecosystem
Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Experience with enterprise IT security, compliance, and audit requirements
- Proven ability to assess and govern third‑party software solutions
- Strong understanding of application hosting, access control, and lifecycle ownership
- Experience defining and enforcing technical standards across teams and vendors
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Governance and ownership mindset rather than a builder or product‑design focus
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Experience working in large, regulated enterprise environments
- Familiarity with web‑based and installable software
- Experience acting as technical owner toward vendors
- Exposure to studio, lab, event, or experiential technology environments
