The Assistant Security Operations Manager will provide day to day support to the Security Operations Manager in delivering the safe and secure campus ensuring the safety and security of buildings and people at the University. They will provide day to day leadership and direction of the dedicated security team maintaining service levels, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, university policies and security Local Operating Procedures.

Security team work 24/7/365 and in additional to the day to day leadership key responsibilities include

a key role during emergencies and critical incidents, including escalation and liaison with emergency services

incident management systems, ensuring accurate reporting, investigations, and evidence handling (CCTV and statements)

Support safeguarding, welfare incidents, and major university events (e.g. Open Days, Graduations, protests)

Ensure compliance with university policies and statutory requirements, and support staff performance, training, and development

Excellent customer service, high levels of initiative, attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task are essential elements of this role.

This is a campus- based post, required to work university core hours with some weekend work required.
