🚨 CTO (Chief Technology Officer) Job Opportunity | Sydney CBD | Permanent | $260K–$300K + Super + STI | 3 days per week in the office hybrid working |
We’re partnering with a high-growth SaaS platform business seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead engineering, architecture, platform reliability, security, quality, and AI adoption across the organisation.
📍 Sydney CBD (3 days per week in office)
💼 Permanent Full-Time
💰 $260K–$300K base + super + STI
👤 Reporting directly to the CEO
This is a rare opportunity to shape and scale a modern enterprise platform operating in regulated environments, with a strong mandate around engineering excellence, operational maturity, and practical AI/agentic AI adoption.
Key areas of ownership include:
• Product Engineering and platform scalability
• Architecture strategy, domain design, and integration patterns
• Platform Engineering, CI/CD, DevEx and tooling
• Reliability/SRE, observability, SLOs and incident management
• Security Engineering and secure SDLC practices
• QA and non-functional quality systems
• Design systems and UX consistency across products
• AI and agentic AI enablement across SDLC and operations
Key requirements:
✅ Proven CTO-level ownership of SaaS/platform engineering environments across architecture, reliability, security and quality
✅ Strong architecture and platform thinking with scalable integration and extensibility design experience
✅ Deep production reliability capability including SLOs, observability, incident management and operational readiness
✅ Experience embedding secure SDLC practices, vulnerability management and automated security controls
✅ Strong quality engineering mindset with automation frameworks and non-functional quality ownership
✅ Practical AI and agentic AI adoption experience with governance, auditability and measurable outcomes
✅ Proven ability to lead and scale Engineering Leads, Tech Leads and Architects across growing organisations
✅ Enterprise or regulated environment experience (insurance/financial services highly regarded)
✅ Ability to balance Product, Delivery and Run models while protecting core platform integrity
✅ Executive stakeholder engagement and client-facing technology leadership capability
✅ Strong engineering metrics fluency across lead time, deployment frequency, change failure rate and MTTR
