Your new role
As a Cyber Security Engineer / Analyst, you will play a key role in cyber security operations, supporting the monitoring, investigation, and response to security incidents across enterprise environments. Working within a security-focused team, you will contribute to threat intelligence activities, vulnerability management, security assessments, and ongoing security improvement programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and analysing security events, alerts, and incidents.
- Performing SOC activities including incident triage, investigation, and response.
- Conducting threat hunting and threat intelligence analysis.
- Supporting vulnerability assessments, security reviews, and audit activities.
- Assisting with penetration testing and security validation exercises.
- Performing security assessments of systems, applications, and cloud environments.
- Preparing security reports, recommendations, and technical documentation.
- Supporting compliance with cyber security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Experience in Cyber Security Operations, SOC, or Security Analyst roles.
- Strong incident detection, investigation, and response capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel.
- Knowledge of vulnerability management tools and security assessment practices.
- Understanding of threat intelligence, threat hunting, and indicators of compromise (IOCs).
- Exposure to network security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, web proxies, and endpoint security solutions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 security services.
- Familiarity with cyber security frameworks including ACSC Essential Eight, ISO 27001, NIST, and ISM.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Industry certifications such as Security+, CEH, SC-200, AZ-500, CISSP, or equivalent will be highly regarded.
