CSI Companies is seeking an experienced SIEM Engineer to support and enhance enterprise security monitoring environments. This role focuses on SIEM tuning detection engineering and log management to improve alert quality platform stability and visibility across systems.
This opportunity is ideal for a security professional who has strong experience with Elastic SIEM and is comfortable working across security operations monitoring and detection optimization.
You will partner with SOC and security teams to strengthen detection capabilities and improve overall monitoring effectiveness.
Hours: Standard business hours
Location: Remote
Pay: $50–65/hr
Position Type: Consultant with contract to hire potential
Work Authorization
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and eligible for W2 employment. No sponsorship and no corp to corp arrangements are available.
What you will do
• Tune and maintain SIEM detections alerts and dashboards within Elastic
• Monitor SIEM health performance and data ingestion across environments
• Improve detection logic to reduce false positives and increase coverage
• Manage onboarding parsing and normalization of log sources
• Support log pipeline optimization using tools such as Cribl
• Troubleshoot ingestion alerting and data quality issues
• Collaborate with SOC and security teams to improve monitoring and response capabilities
• Enhance visibility across enterprise systems through improved logging strategies
What we are looking for
• 5 or more years of experience with Elastic SIEM
• Strong background in SIEM engineering or security operations
• Experience with detection tuning and log source management
• Experience monitoring SIEM health and troubleshooting issues
• Ability to work with security logs across multiple data sources
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Nice to have
• Experience with Cribl
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT and CK framework and detection methodologies
• Experience with scripting or automation
• Experience with cloud environments and enterprise logging
