Job Summary

Overall Purpose:

The Cyber Security Specialist is responsible for protecting the Bank’s information systems, technology assets, and data by implementing, monitoring, and enhancing cybersecurity controls, managing cyber threats and vulnerabilities, supporting incident response activities, and contributing to the delivery of secure, resilient, and compliant technology solutions.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

The job holder will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring, analysing and assessing cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, incidents and control weaknesses within the assigned area.
  • Supporting security incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, recovery and post-incident analysis.
  • Supporting vulnerability identification, validation, prioritisation, remediation tracking and closure validation were assigned to Vulnerability Management.
  • Support security assessments, vulnerability reviews, control testing and risk analysis.
  • Monitoring and responding to security alerts and events were assigned to Security Operations.
  • Supporting threat hunting, alert triage, log analysis and incident investigation activities where assigned to Security Operations.
  • Supporting cybersecurity architecture reviews and providing security input into new systems, technology changes and solution designs where assigned to Cybersecurity Architecture.
  • Assisting in identifying security risks, design gaps, control weaknesses and remediation actions.
  • Collaborating with IT, application, infrastructure, cloud, risk, compliance and business teams to improve the Bank’s cybersecurity posture.
  • Maintaining cybersecurity documentation, including procedures, playbooks, assessment records, incident notes, vulnerability records and remediation evidence.
  • Supporting the operation, review and improvement of cybersecurity tools and technologies relevant to the assigned area.
  • Using threat intelligence, security advisories and emerging cyber threat information to support analysis, prioritisation and recommendations.
  • Performing root cause analysis of cybersecurity issues and contribute to actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Contributing to cybersecurity reporting, including incidents, vulnerabilities, risks, control gaps, remediation progress and operational metrics.
  • Staying abreast of current cyber threats, attack techniques, vulnerabilities, security technologies and good practice relevant to the Bank’s environment.
  • Ensuring assigned cybersecurity activities are performed in line with internal policies, standards, procedures and applicable regulatory expectations.

 

In addition to the specific functions, management may assign more duties as required for the job from time to time.

Required Criteria

Previous proven work experience of three (3) years working experience in an enterprise IT environment AND an MQF Level 5 Award  in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field.

 

OR

 

Previous proven work experience of four (4) years working experience in an enterprise IT environment.

 

OR

 

Previous proven work experience of one (1) year working experience in an enterprise IT environment AND An MQF Level 6 Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field.

 

Desirable Criteria

Familiarity and experience in security tools and technologies (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, etc.).
Prior experience in the team's area(s) of specialisation.
Security-related Certifications (e.g. CEH, CompTIA+, CISM, CISSP, etc.).
Understanding of security concepts, frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK), and incident response methodologies.
