Overview

A major UK critical infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Cyber Transformation Lead to support the Cyber Security & Information Assurance function. This role will work closely with senior cyber leadership to accelerate strategic cyber transformation initiatives, strengthen governance, and uplift organisation-wide cyber maturity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted internal cyber advisor aligned to organisational strategy and objectives
  • Lead and coordinate resolution of complex and high-profile cyber security issues
  • Develop, refresh, and embed cyber policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring adoption and compliance tracking
  • Provide portfolio oversight, including RAG reporting, escalation, and remediation of misalignments
  • Deliver horizon scanning and prepare leadership briefings with actionable cyber insights
  • Support development of cyber profession standards in collaboration with HR and L&D teams
  • Contribute to senior-level cyber incident readiness and response planning
  • Support assurance activities and alignment to regulatory and statutory obligations (e.g., GDPR and relevant UK regulatory requirements)

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in cyber security transformation, governance, or senior advisory roles
  • Strong understanding of cyber security frameworks, policy development, and assurance practices
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and delivering executive-level reporting
  • Ability to manage and coordinate cross-functional cyber initiatives
  • Experience in critical infrastructure, government, or highly regulated environments desirable
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Clearance & Eligibility

  • Must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
  • BPSS acceptable initially, with progression to SC clearance required
  • Candidates must be able to provide GCSE Maths and English (A–C / 4–9) certificates at interview stage

Additional Information

  • Interview process: One-stage competency-based interview via Microsoft Teams
  • Hybrid working: Minimum 2 days per week onsite in Cheshire (non-negotiable)
  • Contract length: 12 months
  • Start: Subject to clearance and onboarding.
