Job Description:
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Assurance Specialist for monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing privileged and administrative activity logs across the bank’s critical systems and infrastructure using SIEM solutions and security monitoring tools. The position focuses on detecting suspicious behavior, policy violations, unauthorized access, and security anomalies related to network devices, databases, operating systems, applications.
Accountabilities and Key Roles :
- Monitor and review administrative and privileged user activities through SIEM logs and security monitoring solutions.
- Analyze logs and events generated from: Network devices, Operating Systems, Databases, Applications, Security tools and infrastructure systems
- Investigate suspicious, abnormal, or unauthorized activities and escalate security incidents when required.
- Correlate events from multiple security sources to identify potential threats, misuse, or insider risks.
- Fine-tune SIEM use cases, correlation rules, and alerting mechanisms to improve monitoring efficiency.
- Ensure proper log collection, integrity, retention, and visibility across critical systems.
- Develop and implement scripting-based automation solutions to handle repetitive review and validation tasks.
- Maintain documentation related to monitoring procedures, review activities.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, cybersecurity or related field.
- Certificates such as Security+, CEH, etc.
Experience:
- +2 years of experience in a related field.
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of SIEM solutions, Network security concepts, Operating systems logs and events, Database activity monitoring, Privileged access monitoring and Security incident analysis.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with programming or scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for security automation.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards.
- Effective communicator with experience of working in a fast paced dynamic environment
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and technologies.
- Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions during emergency situations.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Power point and Power BI.
