Role Description
This is a critical full-time, on-site role for a Cybersecurity Data Analytics Specialist based in Doha, Qatar. The role involves analysing and interpreting complex datasets t o identify potential
security threats. This role involves working closely with a cyber security team to create clear and
impactful visual representations of data to support decision making. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background in data analysis, visualization, and security operations.
This is not a SOC alert triage role. The focus is cybersecurity data analysis, detection coverage, dashboarding, reporting automation, and threat hunting enablement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, interpret and report date to provide actionable insights for the cybersecurity team
- Conduct data quality assessments and ensure the accuracy and integrity of data.
- Engage colleagues to validate detections, identify gaps in coverage, and test detection capabilities.
- Develop resources such as dashboards, heat maps and other representations to demonstrate detection coverage and gaps.
- Automate reporting processes to provide real-time updates on cybersecurity metrics.
- Analysing large datasets to identify trends anomalies, and patterns related t o cybersecurity.
- Support Threat hunting practices, identify data sources to surface attacks and incorporate findings into security controls.
Qualifications:
- A minimum o f 5 years of experience in Cyber Security, worked as a SOC analyst and engaged with data analysis and visualization.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science
- Strong scripting and programming skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and custom tool development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work with large datasets.
- Attention t o details and methodical approach t o data analysis.
- computer networks/networking concepts.
- Understand and master data sources across a variety of categories including Windows, Linux,
- Proven experience i n threat detection, incident response, and security operations.
- In-depth knowledge of security technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, etc.
Relevant certifications such as:
- Certified information system security professional (CISSP).
- Any of GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GIA), Data Science and Analytics (GDSA), Certified Detection Analyst (GCDA). Certified Data Professional (CDP). Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
