A Nigerian-based Data Protection and Compliance Organisation (DPCO) is looking for a proven Professional to lead and deliver on its Data Protection and Privacy Service Offerings.
This isn't a role for a "checklist" auditor. We need a visionary leader—either a Privacy Lawyer who understands architecture or an InfoSec Professional who speaks fluent "Legalese"—to bridge the gap between regulatory theory and technical reality.
What You'll Do
Lead the Change: Direct the end-to-end Data Protection and Audit department, ensuring excellence in service delivery.
Strategic Auditing: Oversee complex regulatory and voluntary audits (NDPA, GDPR, etc.) that provide genuine business value to our clients.
Client Advisory: Act as the lead person for high-stakes stakeholders, translating complex privacy risks into actionable business strategies.
Innovate: Develop and refine audit methodologies to stay ahead of the evolving global privacy landscape.
Shape the Future: Play a key role in executive leadership as we scale our mission.
Responsibilities
I. Primary contact and senior expert on data protection-related matters for the Nigeria Data Protection Act, NDPA.
Ii. Perform NDPA audits and reports including providing recommendations for remediation.
Iii. Implement and maintain a privacy framework service offerings
Iv. Develop and maintain data protection policies, DP standards and privacy notices for clients
V. Conduct third-party data protection assessments and questionnaires.
Vi. Review client contracts and other agreements
Vii. Conduct ad review client DPIAs.
Viii. Develop and assist in delivering privacy training.
Ix. Participate in the Information security function for security incidents and breaches.
X. Assist clients in responding to data subject access requests.
Xi. Assist in advising clients about how to maintain the Data Asset Register (record of processing)
Xii. Plus, any additional responsibilities that may reasonably be undertaken following the role.

Qualifications
- 5 years of Professional work experience in the field of data protection and privacy
- Knowledge of the workings of insurance or reinsurance and fintech companies
- An understanding of audit, legal, and risk
- Managing challenging workloads for multiple teams.
- Independently work and take responsibility for independent delivery of tasks.
- Methodical mindset.
- Reputable Data Protection Certification
- Appropriate work experience in data protection and privacy
- Technical Path: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Cybersecurity/IT with CISSP, or CISM certifications. OR Legal Path: LLB/BL with CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent certifications.
