Are you a seasoned law enforcement leader ready to protect and serve a vibrant health sciences university community?
WesternU is seeking a Director of Campus Security to lead our public safety operations across our California and Oregon campuses. This is a strategic leadership role for a proven sworn officer who's ready to bring vision, integrity, and innovation to campus safety. 🚔
💼 What You'll Do:
✅ Lead day-to-day public safety operations across WesternU campuses
✅ Supervise Campus Security Officers, Public Safety Officers & staff
✅ Oversee security technology — access control, surveillance, safety apps & more
✅ Serve on the Emergency Operations Committee, Threat Assessment & CARES Teams
✅ Ensure compliance with the Clery Act, Kristin Smart Act & Title IX (RO)
✅ Manage contract security vendors & multi-year budget planning
✅ Build strong relationships with local law enforcement & neighboring institutions 🤝
🎓 What We're Looking For:
📌 Current or retired sworn Peace Officer
📌 10+ years of public safety experience | 5+ years in a supervisory role
📌 Bachelor's degree in public safety or related field
📌 Valid BSIS Firearms/Exposed Firearms Permit & Guard Card (or ability to obtain)
📌 Valid California driver's license
📌 Knowledge of Clery Act, use of force, access control & surveillance systems
📌 Command-level experience (lieutenant or above) preferred 🏅
📌 FEMA/POST certifications a plus
💰 Salary: $115,000 – $120,883/year
🕗 Full-time | Pomona, CA (with oversight of Oregon campus security)
