Position Summary

The Director of Information Technology, Security & Compliance is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of all IT systems, cybersecurity, export compliance under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and facility security programs.

This role ensures full compliance with U.S. government regulations, including NIST SP 800-171 and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), while safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and defense-related technical data.

The position serves as a key leader in maintaining operational integrity within a highly regulated aerospace and defense manufacturing environment and acts as the primary interface with auditors, customers, and government agencies on IT, cybersecurity, and security compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities

Information Technology Leadership

· Develop and execute IT strategy aligned with defense contracting and aerospace manufacturing operations

· Oversee all IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud environments, ERP systems, and end-user support

· Ensure high availability, redundancy, and performance of critical business systems

· Manage IT budgets, capital expenditures, and vendor relationships

· Lead system modernization and digital transformation initiatives

Cybersecurity & Regulatory Compliance

· Lead development and maintenance of cybersecurity programs aligned with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC requirements

· Ensure protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) across all systems and networks

· Implement and monitor security controls, risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response plans

· Maintain System Security Plans (SSP), POA&Ms, and audit readiness documentation

· Coordinate and lead internal/external cybersecurity audits and assessments

ITAR & Export Compliance

· Serve as the company’s subject matter expert for ITAR compliance

· Ensure proper handling, storage, access, and transmission of ITAR-controlled technical data

· Develop, implement, and enforce export compliance policies and procedures

· Partner with HR to ensure proper screening and authorization of U.S. Persons

· Conduct employee training and maintain compliance records

· Support government audits and customer compliance reviews

Facility Security (FSO-Level Oversight)

· Oversee facility security programs in alignment with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) requirements

· Manage physical security systems including access control, surveillance, alarms, and restricted areas

· Administer badging, visitor control, and secure areas handling controlled work

· Coordinate with government security representatives and support inspections

· Lead incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions

· Support classified or controlled environment requirements if applicable

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Lead, mentor, and develop IT and security personnel

· Collaborate with executive leadership, operations, quality, HR, and contracts teams

· Provide strategic guidance on risk, compliance, and technology investments

· Support customer requirements, audits, and contract compliance obligations

· Act as a key stakeholder in business continuity and disaster recovery planning

Qualifications

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s preferred)

· 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience

· 5+ years in aerospace, defense, or government contracting environment

· Demonstrated experience with ITAR, NIST SP 800-171, and CMMC compliance

Technical & Compliance Expertise

· Strong knowledge of enterprise IT systems, networks, and cloud environments

· Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and risk management

· Experience handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and export-controlled data

· Familiarity with DCSA security requirements and facility clearance processes

· Experience with ERP systems common in manufacturing environments
