We're working with a rapidly growing technology-driven organisation seeking a Head of Cyber Security to lead and mature its security function.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing strategy with execution. You'll be responsible for shaping the security roadmap, improving security operations, partnering with engineering teams, and helping the business scale securely.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will own the cyber security function and be responsible for protecting the organisation's systems, infrastructure, applications, and data. You'll work closely with engineering, platform, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to ensure security is embedded throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute the company's cyber security strategy and roadmap.
• Lead security operations, incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management activities.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve application and cloud security practices.
• Drive security awareness and promote a security-first culture across the business.
• Oversee security tooling, monitoring capabilities, and third-party security relationships.
• Manage security risk assessments and remediation programmes.
• Support compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements where applicable.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing security team.
Requirements
• Proven experience leading cyber security teams within a technology-led environment.
• Strong technical background across security engineering, cloud security, security operations, or application security.
• Experience responding to security incidents and managing cyber risk.
• Good understanding of modern cloud environments, infrastructure security, and security tooling.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Hands-on mindset with a willingness to remain close to technical challenges.
• Previous experience in fintech, financial services, SaaS, cloud, or other highly regulated environments would be advantageous.
