Job Description / Responsibility
Job Context:
The Head of IT/Manager- IT is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of all hospital technological infrastructures. This includes overseeing the Hospital Information System (HIS), ensuring 100% uptime for clinical and billing modules, safeguarding patient data privacy, and managing the IT technical support team.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Digital Health Systems Management
- Lead and manage Hospital Information System (HIS), EMR, LIS, Pharmacy, and Billing systems
- Ensure ≥99.9% system uptime and optimize system performance
- Oversee integration of diagnostic equipment (PACS/Imaging) with hospital systems
- Liaise with software vendors for system upgrades, customization, and compliance
B. IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity
- Manage hospital-wide network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi) ensuring uninterrupted access
- Implement enterprise-grade cybersecurity protocols (firewall, VPN, endpoint protection)
- Ensure strict compliance with data privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory standards
- Oversee server management, database security, backup, and disaster recovery
C. IT Operations & Service Delivery
- Ensure 24/7 IT support for critical functions (OT, ICU, ER, Billing)
- Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for IT services
- Lead IT team performance, training, and resource planning
- Manage IT asset lifecycle including procurement, inventory, and maintenance
D. Strategic Leadership & Innovation
- Advise senior management on digital transformation and smart hospital solutions
- Prepare and manage annual IT budget with cost optimization initiatives
- Introduce data analytics and reporting systems for operational insights
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, and innovation across IT services
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science & Engineering, Computing & Information System
- Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science & Engineering, Computing & Information System
- Experience in hospital / healthcare IT systems will be given preference
- Skills Required: Hardware & Networking, ERP Software, Hospital management, Server Management, SQL Database, Cloud Service
Experience Requirements
- 5 to 10 year(s)
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
- Hospital,Physiotherapy center,Diagnostic Centre,Clinic,Chamber
Additional Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in hospital/healthcare IT systems will be given preference.
- Strong expertise in SQL Database & HIS/ERP systems.
- Networking (Cisco/MikroTik), firewall, VPN, cloud infrastructure.
- Server administration (Windows/Linux) and cybersecurity.
- Leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a critical healthcare environment.
