Payrate: $20.50
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol Hospital Grounds:
Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site. - Monitor Surveillance Systems:
Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities. - Access Control:
Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas. - Respond to Emergencies:
Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats, and assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations. - Provide Customer Service:
Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff; provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures. - Conflict Resolution:
De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally. - Report Writing:
Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately; complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns. - Collaboration with Hospital Staff:
Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved. - Enforce Hospital Policies:
Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed; address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to travel for shifts at area hospitals (Bridgewater, Liverpool) is preferred.
- Ability to obtain Security License for the province of Nova Scotia.
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR – Level C from a CSA-approved vendor.
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB). Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin’s UoF/MOAB training program prior to onboarding to meet requirements.
- Training cost covered by Paladin with 6‑month commitment to the position/availability.

Educational Requirements
