Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Security Analyst with strong expertise in Web Application Firewall (WAF), CDN, and Edge Security technologies. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Akamai, Cloudflare, AWS WAF, and F5 technologies, along with a solid understanding of Layer 7 security, web application vulnerabilities, DNS architecture, and network troubleshooting.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, and optimizing WAF solutions to protect enterprise applications while ensuring high availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and configure WAF solutions such as Akamai, Cloudflare, AWS WAF, and Imperva.
- Implement and manage security policies, rules, signatures, and access controls.
- Tune WAF configurations to achieve the right balance between security and application performance.
- Integrate WAF solutions with CDN, DNS, and load-balancing environments.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to web application security threats and incidents.
- Troubleshoot network, application delivery, and edge security issues.
- Work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to implement security best practices.
- Contribute to maintaining 99.99%+ application availability and performance.
- Develop automation scripts and tools using Python or Bash to improve operational efficiency.
- Perform security assessments and recommend improvements for web application protection.
- Maintain documentation for security configurations, policies, and operational procedures.
Required Skills
Must Have
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with:
- Akamai
- Cloudflare
- AWS WAF
- F5 Load Balancers (including ASM – moderate knowledge)
- Strong understanding of Layer 7 security concepts and web application vulnerabilities.
- Strong knowledge of DNS architecture, DNS resolution, and traffic flow.
- Experience troubleshooting network, CDN, and edge delivery issues.
- Experience implementing and managing WAF policies and custom security rules.
- Understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and web application security best practices.
- Basic scripting experience using Python or Bash for automation.
- Experience working with CDN, Load Balancing, and Application Delivery technologies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Imperva WAF.
- Knowledge of F5 XC (Distributed Cloud Services).
- Experience with cloud security technologies and AWS environments.
- Familiarity with SIEM, monitoring, and security logging tools.
- Relevant certifications in Security, Cloud, or Networking are a plus.
