Role Description This is a full-time Junior Cybersecurity Analyst role based in Honolulu, HI, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. The Junior Cybersecurity Analyst will assist in monitoring security alerts, reviewing logs, and identifying potential threats across applications, networks, and endpoints. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting vulnerability assessments, contributing to incident investigations, documenting findings, and preparing clear reports for internal stakeholders and clients. The role will involve helping to implement security controls, participating in malware and threat analysis under guidance, and collaborating with senior team members to improve security posture. The analyst will also contribute to maintaining security documentation, following established procedures, and engaging in ongoing training to stay current with emerging cybersecurity trends and tools.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess foundational skills in Cybersecurity and Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret security data and apply critical thinking to identify risks.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Network Security, such as understanding firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, secure network protocols, and basic network architecture concepts.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Application Security, including awareness of common application vulnerabilities, secure coding principles, and basic familiarity with security testing tools.
  • Candidates should possess skills related to Malware Analysis, including recognizing indicators of compromise, understanding basic malware behavior, and supporting threat investigation efforts.
  • Relevant skills and qualifications that would be beneficial include knowledge of common security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), familiarity with SIEM tools, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and attention to detail.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred, along with industry certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or similar entry-level credentials.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a consulting environment, manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to ethical and regulatory requirements.
