Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Junior Engineer based in the Johannesburg / Pretoria Metropolitan Area, with opportunities for remote work as needed. The Junior Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day operational and technical Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) support to Altron Security's internal and external customers to resolve issues professionally and efficiently using the help desk system to manage the process.
The Junior Engineer (Cryptographic Services) will assist the IT Operations Team to build, maintain, and troubleshoot all the Altron Security's PKI services and related product offerings, whilst ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security.
Education:
- IT degree / diploma / certification
- A+, N+, Security+ will be advantageous
Experience:
· Minimum 1 – 3 years related experience in System Administrator.
· Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
· Experience with certificate enabled applications, such as SSL/TLS, S/MIME.
· Working experience in Linux and Windows Server systems administration.
· Experience with virtualization and containerization would be beneficial.
· Technical networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
· Rest APIs, & PowerShell Scripting.
· OpenLDAP schema extension knowledge is beneficial
· Basic SQL proficiency
Skills:
· Knowledge of PKI concepts, patterns, and practices will be advantageous.
