Role Overview
eNGINE is partnering with a client seeking a highly detail-oriented NIST Compliance Analyst to support the build, assessment, and ongoing compliance of a FedRAMP-aligned environment. This individual will operate deep within the compliance lifecycle—working hands-on with control implementation, documentation, and audit readiness across NIST frameworks.
This is a critical role focused on ensuring systems meet stringent federal security requirements, with a strong emphasis on FedRAMP, NIST, and ATO processes.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and maturation of a FedRAMP-compliant environment, working closely with technical and security teams
- Perform detailed assessments against NIST frameworks, including NIST SP 800-53 and related publications
- Execute gap analyses, identify deficiencies, and partner with stakeholders to drive remediation efforts
- Coordinate and validate control implementations across FedRAMP High control families
- Lead and support Authority to Operate (ATO) activities, including documentation, evidence gathering, and stakeholder coordination
- Maintain and continuously improve security documentation to align with FISMA and organizational standards
- Conduct security control assessments and establish metrics to evaluate control effectiveness
- Act as a liaison during audits—preparing artifacts, responding to inquiries, and tracking findings through resolution
- Communicate compliance posture, risks, and remediation status to leadership and cross-functional teams
- Identify vulnerabilities and risks within systems and processes, recommending mitigation strategies
- Collaborate across technical and business teams to ensure alignment on compliance and risk management initiatives
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in information security, compliance, or related technical fields
- Strong hands-on experience with FedRAMP, NIST frameworks, and ATO processes
- Deep understanding of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and FISMA requirements
- Proven ability to perform control assessments, gap analyses, and compliance tracking
- Experience supporting or leading audit readiness and evidence collection efforts
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Experience
- Experience with FedRAMP High environments
- Familiarity with NIST publications such as 800-37, 800-53, and 800-171
- Exposure to Azure security tools (Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Azure Policy, Key Vault, etc.)
- Knowledge of IRS 1075 compliance requirements
- Background in financial services or regulated industries
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA
