Public Safety Officer, Armed, Nights Responsibilities
- Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients and property.
- First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
- Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects.
Qualifications
- Minimum
Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum Experience
Required:
Two years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty, or an equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force.
- Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law: Valid Driver’s license & adhere to Piedmont’s Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500
- Additional Qualifications:
- Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) required within one year of hire.
- Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (certification preferred).
- Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton required.
- Carry company issued firearm required.
- Must pass pre-employment psychological screening.
- Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed.
