Position Overview
Hawkeye Security Group is currently seeking experienced Retail Tactical Security Guards to join our team in Winnipeg.
This position is designed for security professionals who can maintain a strong visible presence, deter criminal activity, identify security risks, and respond effectively to incidents in a retail environment.
A minimum of one (1) year of retail security, loss prevention, or related security experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
* Maintain a highly visible tactical security presence.
* Conduct proactive patrols of assigned retail locations.
* Monitor entrances, exits, and high-risk areas.
* Observe, identify, and report suspicious activity.
* Deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and disruptive behaviour.
* Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies.
* Assist with investigations and evidence preservation when required.
* Complete detailed and accurate incident reports.
* Communicate effectively with management, clients, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
* Apply conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
* Follow all company policies, client procedures, and applicable legislation.
Qualifications
Required
✔ Valid Manitoba Security Guard Licence (or ability to obtain one)
✔ Strong observation and situational awareness skills
✔ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
✔ Professional report-writing abilities
✔ Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
✔ Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
✔ Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
✔ Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Preferred
✔ Minimum 1 year of retail security experience
✔ Loss Prevention experience
✔ Experience in healthcare security, corrections, law enforcement, military, or related fields
✔ Use of Force, Crisis Intervention, Mental Health, or De-escalation training
