Minimum Salary: $58,898.00 Annually
Maximum Salary: $90,582.00 Annually
Scheduled Days: 230 days per year

Licensing & Certification
Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Basic Law Enforcement certification required. Candidates must pass a criminal history, psychological, and polygraph test, and hold a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
Experience
Seven years of law‑enforcement experience is required.

- Teaching skills related to drugs, law enforcement, citizenship, criminal justice, safety, crime prevention, and law.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide administrators and personnel with resources for safe school operations.
- Offer in‑service training to improve preparedness for security matters.
- Coordinate law‑enforcement efforts related to local schools.
- Work within a school cluster.
- Develop a communication network among administration, staff, students, parents, and citizens.
- Serve as a positive role model to bridge student‑law‑enforcement relations and prevent crime.
- Facilitate safety and security assessments and improvement plans.
- Develop emergency plans.
- Set and reset fire alarms during drills or emergencies.
- Refer to other agencies within the school system and community when additional assistance is needed.
- Share information with administrators, social workers, and relevant agencies, including the Department of Family and Child Services (DFACS).
Physical Demands
The employee must regularly stand, walk, climb stairs, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and handle objects. Visual acuity and color discrimination, and the ability to work in low light are required. The employee must be agile, physically strong, and able to respond to emergencies, restrain and apprehend suspects, and lift or move up to 100 pounds. Operating a motor vehicle is required.
