Position Overview
We are seeking a Cyber Security Incident Response Analyst to support continuous monitoring, detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery activities across enterprise networks, systems, and infrastructure. This role is responsible for assisting with cybersecurity incident response operations, investigating security events, validating indicators of compromise, and supporting security monitoring initiatives to strengthen the organization's overall security posture.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in security operations, threat detection, incident response, log analysis, and cybersecurity best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and executing incident response activities to ensure security incidents are identified, documented, and escalated appropriately.
- Investigate indicators of compromise (IOCs) and validate potential security incidents through log analysis and threat investigation.
- Support containment, eradication, and recovery efforts during cybersecurity incidents under established procedures.
- Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to recommendations that improve future response capabilities.
- Monitor and analyze security alerts, audit logs, endpoint events, network activity, and forensic data.
- Utilize security monitoring and investigation tools to identify threats and suspicious activities.
- Assist in developing incident reports, documentation, and executive summaries.
- Support compliance initiatives and security control implementation aligned with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Create and maintain security procedures, operational documentation, and response playbooks.
- Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve security monitoring, response processes, and operational effectiveness.
- Participate in ongoing cybersecurity training and professional development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an information security, cybersecurity, SOC, or incident response role.
- Ability to analyze and correlate security data from multiple sources.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience documenting technical processes, incidents, and findings.
- Willingness to participate in on-call support rotations.
