We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Junior SOC Analyst to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their cybersecurity career who is eager to develop hands-on experience working alongside experienced security professionals in a fast-paced operational environment.

The Opportunity

As a Junior SOC Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting our Security Operations Centre by monitoring security events, investigating alerts, documenting incidents, and assisting with incident response activities. You will receive ongoing mentorship and training while developing practical experience with industry-leading security technologies and processes.

This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for cybersecurity, strong analytical skills, and a desire to build a long-term career in defensive security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security platforms including SIEM, EDR, IDS, and other detection technologies for potential threats and suspicious activity.
  • Perform initial triage and investigation of security alerts and incidents using established procedures and playbooks.
  • Escalate security events to senior analysts when required and support ongoing investigations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of incidents, investigations, and remediation activities within case management systems.
  • Assist with host-based and network-based analysis during incident response engagements.
  • Support the identification and analysis of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
  • Participate in operational reviews, team meetings, and ongoing technical training.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the SOC and assist in refining operational processes and procedures.
  • Develop a strong understanding of security operations, threat detection methodologies, and incident response practices.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and documentation skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while following established processes.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
