The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Daily management reports and incident reports;
- Client liaison;
- Problem solving;
- Checking and testing of all equipment and vehicles;
- Managing people and assets;
- Application of HR policies, practices and procedures;
- Enforcing of Standard Operating Procedures;
- Investigating of incidents;
- Management of health and safety issues for Sappi;
- Reading of forestry maps;
- Must be able to cover a large area of the forestry as required by the client;
Preferred qualifications/ attributes/skills
- PSIRA certification- Grade A;
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification;
- Knowledge and experience in forestry security will be an advantage;
- Must be able to read forestry maps;
- Investigation skills;
- Community liaison experience
- Computer literate [MS Word, Excel and Outlook];
- Strong management and planning ability;
- Health and Safety qualification and working knowledge of OHSA, NOSA;
- Sound communication skills [verbal and in writing];
- Must be prepared to work long hours;
- Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record;
- Must have valid driver’s license;
- Zulu speaking will be an advantage;
- Firearm competent;
