Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Security Guard role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The Security Guard will be responsible for maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring premises, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to incidents, alarms, or suspicious activities. Day-to-day tasks include controlling access points, verifying identification, enforcing site policies, and documenting activities or incidents in detailed reports. The role involves engaging with clients, visitors, and the public in a professional and respectful manner while de-escalating conflicts and addressing concerns. The Security Guard will also collaborate with supervisors, teammates, and emergency services as needed to support a safe environment and uphold Blackade’s operational standards.
Qualifications
- Strong Physical Security and Private Security skills, including site patrols, access control, and incident response.
- Experience with Personnel Security practices such as badge checks, visitor screening, and safeguarding sensitive areas.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities, with a focus on professionalism, respect, and conflict de-escalation.
- Valid security guard license for the Province of Ontario and up-to-date first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, work various shifts (including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays), and handle stressful situations calmly.
- Clear communication skills in English, both verbal and written; additional languages are an asset.
- Reliable transportation to sites across the Greater Toronto Area and a clean professional record; previous security, law enforcement, or military experience is an advantage.
