Position Summary
To maintain a safe, secure and orderly learning environment for students, teachers, and staff in accordance with school district policies.
Essential Tasks And Responsibilities
- Take a proactive approach to crime and violence prevention by patrolling inside and outside all areas of school campuses, looking for suspicious activity
- Monitor student drop off and pick up areas; being visible to students, staff and parents
- Provide security for after hour events such as; sporting events, family nights, conferences, etc…
- Respond to calls for assistance from administration, faculty and staff
- Assist with drug dog searches
- Advise school administration of any issues that occur, or may occur on campus, or may potentially affect the individuals on it
- Be visible daily at worksites and focus on areas of large student populations
- Maintain a professional/personal appearance as well as properly maintain the uniform, vehicle and any issued equipment
- Attend awards assemblies, pep rallies and other student and/or parent gatherings
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Safety and Security Director/ Assistant Director/building principal or central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of applicable policies and procedures
- Ability to use tact, patience and courtesy when working with individuals
- Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written form
- Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
- Ability to travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as needed
Qualifications Profile
- Response to active shooter training preferred
