Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date truck logs.
- Manage site access by signing in and out visitors, contractors, and drivers.
- Ensure trucks are processed upon arrival and departure in accordance with site procedures.
- Provide professional customer service to drivers, visitors, and staff as needed.
- Act as a liaison between gate operations and the shipping department to support effective workflow.
- Perform access control duties, including verifying identification and authorizing entry to secure areas.
- Monitor security systems (e.g., cameras, alarms) to detect suspicious activity or irregularities.
- Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, or potential security threats.
- Document all incidents and observations in detailed, accurate reports.
- Conduct routine foot patrols to maintain safety and security of the premises.
- Inspect and analyze security systems to identify vulnerabilities or malfunctions.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services during serious incidents or critical situations.
Qualifications
- Authorized to work in Canada.
- Hold a valid security license.
- First aid certification required.
- Solid report writing skills.
- Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus.
- Strong proficiency with technology.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout shift.
