We’re currently accepting applications for Casual Security Guards to join our Campbell River portfolio! This is a great opportunity to work at a variety of sites and be part of a supportive, professional team. Some sites are large, so you’ll definitely get your steps in! The role can be physically active and requires availability to work mornings, days, nights, and/or weekends.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service and build positive relationships with clients, tenants, and the public
- Write clear, detailed reports (incident, emergency, liability, and daily activity reports)
- Watch for and report irregularities such as security breaches, safety hazards, and emergencies — and contact emergency responders when needed
- Provide first aid and medical response when required
- Conduct regular foot patrols to ensure the safety of people, property, and equipment
- Use phone and computer applications to communicate site activity
Core Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent customer service mindset
- Solid understanding of non-violent crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Ability to stay calm, make quick decisions, and work independently during emergencies
Requirements
- Valid BC Security Licence
- Class 5 or Class 7N BC Driver’s Licence (required for Mobile Patrol)
- 6 months of security experience and/or 6 months of customer service experience is an asset
- OFA Level 1 or higher is an asset
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Good physical fitness – ability to walk for extended periods (most sites)
Education and Certification
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid BC Security Licence
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence
- OFA I

Shift Information
This is an As Needed position covering 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, Weekends.
