Support overnight security operations and intelligence monitoring while building Python-driven automation and analytics that improve visibility into vulnerabilities and external exposures. Success in this role comes from strong Python scripting, comfort working with large and messy datasets, and the ability to translate findings into clear, actionable security communications. You’ll balance hands-on watch responsibilities with continuous improvement of collection, enrichment, and reporting workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute overnight watch operations by monitoring cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and exposure-related signals and escalating items that require attention.
  • Build and maintain Python scripts to automate data collection, enrichment, analysis, and repeatable reporting workflows.
  • Work with large, unstructured datasets to clean, normalize, and structure information for analysis and downstream consumption.
  • Correlate vulnerability and threat information from multiple sources to identify patterns, prioritize relevance, and support exposure awareness.
  • Produce clear written summaries, notifications, and documentation that communicate technical findings to varied audiences.
  • Review and validate outputs from automated security reports and improve logic, data quality checks, and reliability over time.
  • Maintain situational awareness of emerging vulnerabilities, active threat activity, and trends that could impact organizational risk posture.
  • Operate independently during night shift, managing queue/workload prioritization and following documented procedures in a 24/7 environment.

Required Skills:

  • Strong Python scripting experience, including building maintainable scripts for automation and analysis.
  • Hands-on use of Python for data analysis, automation, data collection, enrichment, or reporting workflows.
  • Experience working with large datasets, especially unstructured, inconsistent, or messy data.
  • Cybersecurity background or strong cybersecurity domain knowledge applicable to security operations and monitoring.
  • Working knowledge of vulnerabilities, exposure analysis concepts, and threat monitoring practices.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, including the ability to write concise, actionable security summaries.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a 24/7 operations environment.
  • Availability and willingness to work the night shift schedule (10:00 PM–8:00 AM, Tuesday night through Saturday morning).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using pandas and DataFrames for data wrangling, analysis, and feature creation.
  • Familiarity with Shodan or similar exposure-analysis tooling for identifying externally visible assets and services.
  • Experience with Censys for discovery, enrichment, and exposure research.
  • Experience using VirusTotal for reputation checks, indicator research, and enrichment workflows.
  • Domain/IP enrichment experience, including correlating infrastructure, certificates, DNS, and related artifacts.
  • Exposure management or vulnerability analysis experience, including prioritization and trend reporting.
  • Prior SOC, security operations, or 24/7 watch floor experience.
  • Cyber threat intelligence experience, including source evaluation and analytic tradecraft.
  • OSINT experience, including building repeatable collection and validation processes.
  • Dark web monitoring experience and understanding of common data sources and limitations.
  • Experience building or supporting reporting and dashboards that provide visibility into collected/enriched data.
  • Experience supporting environments in electric energy, utilities, critical infrastructure, or OT cybersecurity contexts.
