Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional services experience in cybersecurity, IT technical delivery, business continuity, IT audit, internal controls, or risk management
  • Experience performing security risk assessments, testing, or audits against cybersecurity and information security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, PCI DSS, CIS Critical Security Controls, ASD Essential Eight, GDPR, Australian Privacy Principles)
  • Strong experience in business continuity and disaster recovery (BCP/DRP), including recovery plan assessments, incident management, and alignment with ISO 22301 and BS 25999
  • Proven ability to lead or support technical assessment engagements and translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of IT general controls (ITGC), application controls, and governance best practices
  • Solid understanding of IT environments including project management, applications, databases, operating systems, and network infrastructure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills including client reporting and presentations
  • Ability to develop innovative, value-driven improvements aligned to client needs
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to deliver independently and within teams
  • Client-focused mindset with high service quality standards
  • Successful criminal record screening clearance
  • Relevant tertiary degree and/or qualification

Desirable

  • Experience in data analytics and computer-assisted audit techniques using SQL, ACL, IDEA, or similar tools

Responsibilities

  • Conduct IT, cybersecurity, business continuity, and technology risk assessments across applications, infrastructure, and third-party environments
  • Perform risk-based IT and cyber audits to evaluate internal controls, system security, and operational resilience
  • Execute audit fieldwork, document findings, maintain audit files, and ensure compliance with auditing standards
  • Support IT general controls (ITGC) and application controls testing for external audit engagements
  • Lead and coordinate multiple consulting and audit projects, including planning, scheduling, and team supervision
  • Conduct special reviews covering system implementations, access controls, contingency planning, and technical evaluations
  • Prepare audit scopes, reports, technical documentation, and client presentations with actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate with internal divisions, stakeholders, and client management throughout audit engagements
  • Mentor and support junior team members through training, guidance, and methodology compliance
  • Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance operational efficiency, controls, and risk management
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and advancements in IT auditing practices
