Scope of role

The Security Specialist III ensure all security operations, and systems, are working effectively for the duration of the shift. Efficient operations, timely and accurate management of standard operations and incident management and immediate remedial action and reports that are required daily. He implements, coordinates and controls activities which provide the variety of security services throughout the facility. The post holder will be responsible for enforcing post instructions and the scope of work for all posts in coordination with NGHC shift security staff. Effectively, this post manages the day-to-day shift operations of the security department at each site (GHE, Solar, Wind)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages and monitors all security staff on shift. Checks all positions, occurrence books and personnel daily. Works closely with all staff to meet the required security standards
  • Undertakes and provides risk assessments in conjunction with end-users, safety and other staff as directed by NGHC for the safety and security of assets, employees, contractors and visitors
  • Oversees the complete security shift responsibilities on a shift basis and is on call as required
  • Evaluates, reviews and reports on policies, procedures and instructions relating to security service provision
  • Maintains the personnel standards of all staff, equipment and assets on his shift
  • Comply with all EHS&S procedures as set by NGHC
  • Brief, deploy and set teams and individuals to task
  • Supervise daily security activities as directed by the NGHC Security Manager
  • Oversees the performance of the Entry Control Points, Emergency Response and Traffic Management Teams, Building security officers, Visitor Centre and other security tasks
  • Understands the technical security systems installed within the site area of responsibility and reports any deficiencies, damage, faults etc. occurring on shift
  • Ensures that security staff understand and use the Proof of Presence technology solutions as installed and ensure adequate supervision of patrols
  • Respond to security incidents and assist in the coordination of follow up activities
  • Produce incident reports
  • Liaise with Emergency services
  • Provide verbal and written briefs and complete reports and registers as appropriate
  • Deliver the highest standards of customer and employee care
  • Monitors and assesses service delivery & associated KPI’s of security service provider, & provides detailed reports to Security Management
  • Maintains operational competence of security service provider via continued assessment, continued training, exercise, & testing

  • Provide the main interface with the Security Control Centre (SCC) and follow the reporting functions required of the role.

 

Educational Requirements/Qualifications

  • A technically based degree
  • At least 5 years' work experience in a high-pressure security environment
  • Have received leadership and man management training or show an aptitude for operational leadership
  • A clear, concise and effective written ability in English & Arabic
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Port Facility Security Officer (GHE Only)

Preferred Experience

  • A professional knowledge of the implications of understanding and implementing policies and procedures
  • A skilled professional with prior experience gained in a security or management environment
  • Understanding of EHS&S requirements
  • Reasonable working knowledge or the ability to absorb the operation of technical systems
  • The ability to concentrate and operate in a key position within the security structure of NGHC
  • Ability to fully comprehend the security operations of NGHC
  • Previous experience in similar role within an industrial setting

Professional Qualifications/Memberships

  • Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) – GHE Only

Specific Occupational Requirements

  • Must hold or have the ability to hold a current valid Security License as may be required
  • Hold a valid driving licence with proof of safer driving for the last 24 months
  • Able to produce a 3-year verifiable work history
  • Pass HCIS screening and authorisation process

Training and Development Requirements

External:

  • Government Medical Test
  • Police Clearance / HCIS background check
