Job Description
We are seeking a Security Specialist with strong expertise in Threat Risk Assessment (TRA) to evaluate and mitigate security risks across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct threat and risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies
- Design and implement security controls across network, application, and system environments
- Define and assess security architecture requirements for IT projects
- Perform security reviews, audits, and incident-based reassessments
- Develop risk assessment reports and provide security-by-design recommendations
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (NIST, ISO) and government security policies
- Facilitate workshops and collaborate with stakeholders on security risks and controls
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in TRA/HTRA methodologies and cybersecurity frameworks
- Expertise in security architecture, risk analysis, and vulnerability assessment
- Knowledge of encryption, access controls, firewalls, authentication, and security tools
- Experience with enterprise security in complex, distributed environments
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Public sector / Ontario government experience
- Knowledge of FIPPA and related compliance standards
- Experience in disaster recovery, penetration testing, and security audits.
