Role Description The Security Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role located in Greater George Town, responsible for overseeing daily security operations across the hotel. This role includes supervising security team members, coordinating shift schedules, and ensuring adherence to safety and security policies and procedures. The Security Supervisor monitors physical security systems, conducts regular patrols and inspections, and responds to incidents or emergencies in a calm, professional manner. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve preparing incident reports, working closely with hotel operations and management, and supporting guests and colleagues with security-related concerns. The position requires maintaining a visible presence in public areas, promoting a safe environment, and delivering service in line with InterContinental’s standards of hospitality.
Qualifications

  • Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, coaching, and performance monitoring.
  • Solid physical security expertise, including access control, surveillance monitoring, and incident response.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly and professionally with guests, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Customer service skills that support a welcoming, guest-focused environment while maintaining safety and security standards.
  • Operations management abilities to maintain procedures, coordinate schedules, and support cross-functional hotel activities.
  • Experience in security or safety roles within hospitality, commercial, or public environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of emergency preparedness, basic risk assessment, and relevant local regulations or compliance requirements.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions, and handle confidential information responsibly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional security or safety certifications are an advantage.
  • Availability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
