Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Okotoks, AB, for a Security Technician at Trotter & Morton. The Security Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of security systems, including access control, surveillance, and alarm systems. Daily tasks include configuring hardware, running cabling, testing systems, and collaborating with clients to customize solutions to meet their security needs. The role also involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining accurate documentation of service and installation processes.
Qualifications
- Expertise in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security systems, including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
- Experience with system configuration, electrical wiring, and low-voltage cabling.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance with industry regulations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills for collaborating with clients and team members.
- Relevant certifications in security or electrical systems are a plus (e.g., CFAA, CET, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in using technology tools and software related to security system operations.
- High school diploma required; additional technical training or education is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
