About the role
DISC is seeking a Security Technician (Electronic Security Systems) to join our team on a full-time basis at our Tullamarine, VIC location. This role is central to our operations, ensuring that our electronic security systems are installed, maintained, and functioning optimally to protect our assets and provide peace of mind to our clients.
As partners with industry leaders like Axis Communications, Milestone Systems, Inner Range and Genetec, we provide tailored alarms, access control and IP CCTV solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electronic security systems including CCTV cameras, alarm systems, access control systems and monitoring equipment
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of security systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and meeting client specifications
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in security systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
- Communicate effectively with clients, explaining technical issues and solutions in a clear and accessible way
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and DISC policies whilst carrying out duties
What we're looking for
- 1+ years in security system installation/maintenance and a solid understanding of IP networks, you'll fit right in. Essential:
- Victorian Security Licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Full Australian working rights (no sponsorship available)
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to sites
- Strong problem-solving skills, with experience reading plans, diagrams, and specifications
- Effective communication for collaborating with clients and teams
- Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Preference for experience with systems like Genetec, Milestone, or similar.
