Senior Information Security Consultant
Location: Edinburgh (hybrid working, 2 days a week in the office)
Duration: Initial 6 months
Rate: Competitive day rate (Inside IR35 – Umbrella)
We’re supporting a major enterprise transformation and are seeking an experienced Senior Information Security Consultant to join a high-profile IT separation / divestment programme.
This is not a hands-on role however you must still have up to date technical knowledge and the ability to operate at pace within a complex, fast-moving environment.
The Role
- Provide embedded security advisory across a large-scale separation programme
- Review and challenge architecture and engineering designs
- Guide secure application, identity, and data separation
- Identify and prioritise real-world security risks in transitional states
- Deliver clear, actionable recommendations to programme stakeholders
Key Experience Required
- Proven experience supporting M&A, carve-out, or divestment programmes
- Strong practical background in:
- Identity separation (AD / Entra ID)
- Application & access segregation
- Data migration, handling, and risk
- Experience operating in large enterprise environments
- Ability to work independently at pace with minimal oversight
- Strong stakeholder communication and risk articulation skills
- Financial services experience (FCA/PRA awareness desirable)
Desirable
- AWS / cloud security (IAM, network boundaries, shared services)
- Privileged access management in transitional environments
- Hybrid / SaaS application estates
- Pragmatic use of ISO27001 / NIST / CIS
