🕒 Roster: Average 42 hours per week, depending on operational requirements. Field shifts are typically 12 hours, working roster cycles of up to 14 days on / 14 days off

Corporate Protection is seeking experienced, qualified, and dedicated professionals to join our team as Shift Relief Emergency Services Officers. This is an exciting opportunity to work across high-profile mining and industrial operations while contributing to emergency response, safety, and operational excellence across Australia.
Reporting directly to the National Manager – Fire & Rescue, this role is critical to supporting our operational capability through frontline emergency response, employee leadership, training, logistical coordination, and relief coverage across multiple client sites.
As a Shift Relief ESO, you’ll provide operational support across a range of positions including Supervisor, Team Leader, Emergency Services Officer, Security Emergency Services Officer, and Field Contract Coordinator.
No two days are the same. Depending on client requirements, responsibilities may include:
- Fire response and protection
- Hazardous materials response
- Road crash rescue
- Confined space rescue
- Vertical rescue
- Site emergency response
- Security operations
- Risk-based emergency management activities
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency incidents including fires, road crash rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and technical rescues
- Operate emergency response vehicles and specialised equipment safely and effectively
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and confined space standbys
- Lead toolbox talks, safety inspections, and vehicle pre-start checks
- Complete incident reports, local action plans, and other operational administration
- Ensure vehicles, equipment, and uniforms are maintained to company and client standards
- Support onboarding and deployment of employees across client sites
- Assist with training, rostering, supervision, and coordination activities
- Liaise with site leadership, clients, suppliers, and internal Corporate Protection teams
- Support delivery of training and compliance requirements in line with contractual obligations

- PUAFIR204 – Respond to Wildfire
- PUAFIR309 – Operate Pumps
- RIIVEH305E – Operate and Maintain a 4WD Vehicle
- Safely Access Rail Corridor (SARC)
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
What We’re Looking For
Desired Experience & Attributes
- 4+ years’ experience as an Emergency Services Officer or operational firefighter
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven leadership and team coordination capability
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to work autonomously in remote and high-risk environments
