Job Description:
Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Enterprise Cyber Security Architect to establish and lead a newly created security architecture capability within a growing global technology function. This is a strategically important senior appointment offering excellent long-term career progression and a highly competitive salary package.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide cyber security architecture function across the organisation.
- Define and execute the long-term security architecture roadmap aligned with business growth and regulatory obligations.
- Embed “Security by Design” principles across infrastructure, cloud, and software development lifecycles.
- Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure secure and scalable technology solutions.
- Develop and maintain enterprise security standards, reference architectures, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Provide strategic oversight on the implementation of security controls across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Drive modern security initiatives including cloud security, Zero Trust principles, and secure application architecture.
- Assess emerging technology risks, including AI-related security considerations, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Act as a senior security advisor to executive stakeholders and influence security direction across the wider business.
- Ensure security architecture practices align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and operational objectives.
Experience Required
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience within cybersecurity, enterprise security architecture, or related senior security leadership positions.
- Proven experience building or significantly evolving enterprise security architecture functions within large-scale organisations.
- Strong background in cloud security architecture across AWS and/or Azure environments.
- Experience implementing secure software development and infrastructure security practices.
- Deep understanding of enterprise security frameworks, governance, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management experience with the ability to influence senior technical and business leaders.
- Experience operating within complex, fast-paced enterprise environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to balance robust security controls with business agility and operational delivery.
Desirable Skills
- Experience implementing or contributing to Zero Trust security strategies.
- Familiarity with AI security risks, governance, and emerging technology controls.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture methodologies and security frameworks.
- Exposure to financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience leading global security transformation initiatives.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, CCSP, or equivalent are highly advantageous.
Educational Requirements
- Third-level degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant industry certifications highly desirable.
