Kalmer Solutions is looking for a Strategic Information Technology and Security Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them align technology, cybersecurity, and risk management efforts with business goals.
This is a senior, client-facing role focused on strategy, leadership, and long-term planning. You will guide executive stakeholders through important decisions related to information technology, security posture, business continuity, compliance, and future growth.
You will deliver virtual Chief Information Officer and virtual Chief Information Security Officer services, lead recurring strategic engagements, and help clients turn complex technical and security concerns into clear business decisions.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as the primary strategic contact for assigned clients
- Lead recurring information technology management and strategic planning meetings
- Facilitate quarterly information technology committee meetings
- Conduct and review risk assessments
- Provide guidance on vendor risk management
- Help clients align with security frameworks such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the Center for Internet Security
- Deliver cybersecurity training for executive teams and boards
- Assist with information technology and security policies, standards, and procedures
- Provide guidance on business continuity and incident response planning
- Lead disaster recovery tabletop exercises
- Develop and maintain strategic information technology roadmaps
- Assist with information technology budgeting and planning
- Advise on infrastructure, cloud, and security initiatives
- Work closely with internal technical teams to ensure strategic plans turn into practical action
Required Experience:
- 5-10+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or consulting roles
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks
- Experience with risk assessments, policy development, and compliance
- Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience leading client-facing meetings at an executive level
- Strong documentation and presentation skills
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ITIL, or similar)
- Experience in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, education)
- Familiarity with current and emerging technology trends (cloud, zero trust, AI, etc.)

Pay: $60,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
