Role Description
The Technology Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all technology systems, infrastructure, software, and data practices comply with internal policies, industry standards, and external regulatory requirements. The role focuses on reducing compliance risk, strengthening governance controls, and ensuring secure and auditable technology operations.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining technology compliance frameworks, policies, and control standards across IT, cybersecurity, cloud, and data environments. The role involves conducting compliance assessments, internal audits, and control reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
The Technology Compliance Manager works closely with IT, cybersecurity, legal, risk management, internal audit, and data governance teams to identify compliance gaps and implement remediation actions. They are responsible for monitoring regulatory changes and translating them into actionable technical and operational requirements.
In addition, the role includes supporting external audits, managing compliance reporting, and ensuring proper documentation of technology controls and processes. The Technology Compliance Manager plays a key role in maintaining regulatory readiness, reducing operational risk, and ensuring trustworthy technology operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Risk Management, or a related field
- 5–12+ years of experience in IT compliance, technology risk, cybersecurity governance, or audit roles
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, GDPR, PDPA)
- Experience conducting IT audits, risk assessments, and control testing
- Familiarity with cybersecurity and cloud security principles
- Strong analytical and documentation skills
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including IT, security, legal, and audit
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT systems and infrastructure
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements into technical controls
- Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools is an advantage
- Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer are highly preferred
