- Familiarity with shipment monitoring tools, GPS tracking, telematics, or incident reporting systems.
Position Summary
The Transportation Security Manager is responsible for leading transportation security and loss prevention efforts across a North American transportation network. This role investigates transportation losses and cargo theft incidents, develops and implements security protocols, and delivers training programs designed to reduce risk and enhance overall operational safety.
The manager plays a key role in fostering a culture of security awareness by partnering with transportation, operations, and leadership teams to proactively identify threats, strengthen controls, and ensure effective incident response.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate transportation losses, cargo theft, and security incidents across North America; conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain transportation security policies, procedures, and best practices to mitigate risk and protect shipments.
- Analyze loss data, trends, and high‑risk lanes to proactively identify vulnerabilities and reduce exposure.
- Provide security guidance and support to transportation and operations teams.
- Design and deliver comprehensive security training programs for transportation teams, drivers, and operational staff.
- Train personnel on shipment‑security best practices, cargo theft prevention, threat recognition, and effective incident response.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Transportation, Risk, Compliance, and Management to align security initiatives with business objectives.
- Support active incident response efforts and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners when required.
- Promote a strong culture of accountability and security awareness throughout the transportation network.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and recommendations related to transportation security performance and continuous improvement.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging threats, and evolving security technologies to enhance prevention strategies.
Compensation
$75,000 to $90,000 per year annual salary.
