About The Role

The selected candidate will play a vital role supporting the DISA GSM-O II Task Number 07 (TN07). This position involves providing network operations and cyber defense support to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), primarily supporting the Department of the Navy (DoW) and Combatant Commands (COCOMs). The role requires a stabilizing presence within a high-intensity, high-tempo operations center, where technical expertise, management skills, and analytical capabilities are essential to address senior command requirements and support subordinate commands. The candidate will be instrumental in developing and implementing enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategies, analyzing architectures and policies, and ensuring the security and resilience of critical military networks and infrastructure.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline, along with at least 8 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity or network operations. An active DoD TS/SCI clearance with eligibility for a Counterintelligence (C/I) Polygraph is required. Additionally, the candidate must hold a DoD 8750 certification at IAT Level II and Security+ CE. Experience working within joint command environments or operations centers is highly preferred. A thorough understanding of military orders, decision-making processes, and military communication protocols is essential. Proficiency with Windows desktop and server operating systems, virtual environments such as Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office Suite is also necessary. The candidate should demonstrate strong communication skills, IP addressing knowledge, and familiarity with network monitoring protocols. Preferred qualifications include experience engaging with senior leadership, working with DISA and DoD networks, and possessing military or technical writing expertise.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing holistic enterprise defensive strategies to safeguard the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN). This includes managing cybersecurity capabilities across diverse infrastructure components such as cloud environments, network boundaries, cross-domain solutions, and endpoints. Analyzing architectures, policies, and data to identify vulnerabilities, prevent malicious activity, and mitigate threats is a core function. The role involves preparing and delivering briefings tailored for senior leadership, including general officers and flag officers, to communicate situational awareness and strategic recommendations effectively. The candidate will conduct cyber situational awareness activities, providing actionable insights and recommendations to enhance defensive postures. Additionally, the role requires continuous monitoring of threat landscapes, analyzing threat intelligence, and implementing countermeasures across a multi-tiered, porous domain that encompasses federated gateways, cross-domain peering points, internet access points, and endpoints.
