Position Overview

This role is responsible for leading day-to-day physical security operations while also supporting facility management and building-related initiatives. The position sits onsite at the primary office location and serves as a key point of contact for security, safety, and facility-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee front desk security operations, including visitor access, badge management, and incident monitoring
  • Manage incoming mail and packages, ensuring proper handling, logging, and distribution
  • Lead the organization’s physical security program, including policies, procedures, and incident response
  • Administer and maintain physical security systems, including surveillance platforms and access control technologies
  • Manage user credentials, permissions, and system monitoring; respond to alarms and security incidents
  • Act as the primary point of contact during security events and coordinate with external responders when needed
  • Partner with IT to ensure physical security systems align with cybersecurity standards (firmware updates, system hardening, network considerations)
  • Manage security vendors, contracts, and assist with budgeting and planning
  • Oversee facility operations including maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects
  • Coordinate inspections and compliance for fire, life safety, and building systems
  • Work with external vendors and contractors to maintain a safe and functional environment

Qualifications

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in physical security operations, access control, and surveillance systems within enterprise environments
  • Experience managing or supporting facility operations, maintenance, or capital improvement projects
  • Background in consulting, systems integration, or enterprise environments strongly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise security platforms such as Genetec, Axis, or similar systems
  • Strong understanding of IP-based security systems, camera networks, and access control infrastructure
  • Familiarity with security system integration, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Exposure to cybersecurity practices related to physical security systems

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and vendor management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate independently
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Professional certifications (CPP, PSP, PMP, or similar) are a plus
