Illumio Engineer – GCP / GCVE Migration Project

We are looking for an experienced Illumio Engineer to support a major transformation programme involving migration to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE).

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-profile cloud migration project focused on modernising infrastructure, enhancing security segmentation, and enabling secure workload migration into GCP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support Illumio micro-segmentation solutions across hybrid environments
  • Work closely with cloud, infrastructure, and security teams during migration to GCP and GCVE
  • Define and enforce security policies for workloads migrating from on-prem VMware environments into GCVE
  • Support application dependency mapping and segmentation strategy development
  • Troubleshoot Illumio policy, agent, and connectivity issues
  • Assist with migration planning, testing, and cutover activities
  • Ensure compliance with security and governance standards throughout the programme

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Illumio Core
  • Proven experience working on cloud migration or data centre transformation projects
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or GCVE
  • Good understanding of:
  • VMware environments
  • Network security and segmentation
  • Firewall policy management
  • Hybrid cloud infrastructure
  • Experience working within enterprise-scale environments
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with:
  • Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
  • Palo Alto, Check Point, or NSX security technologies
  • Kubernetes or container security
  • CI/CD and automation tooling
