Join a nationally recognized consulting firm advising Fortune 500 companies and private equity investors on critical technology and cybersecurity initiatives. In this engagement, you’ll serve as an Interim CISO for a private equity-backed portfolio company, leading through a key transition while driving high-impact security priorities.
This is a hands-on executive role—partnering with an outgoing CISO, ensuring continuity, and stabilizing the organization during a critical period.
The environment spans healthcare technology, pharmacy management, and revenue cycle businesses, where security and compliance are mission-critical.
The Opportunity
- Duration: ~2 months, full-time (~40 hrs/week)
- Structure: Contract with potential for extension or longer-term alignment
- Focus: Leadership continuity, execution, and transition to incoming CISO
- Travel: Limited, if any (primarily Ohio and Florida)
- Start Date: Mid/End May or earlier if possible
What You’ll Do
- Act as Interim/Acting CISO, transitioning from overlap to full ownership
- Lead cybersecurity strategy, operations, and team alignment
- Maintain executive and board-level confidence during transition
- Drive key initiatives, including:
- AI security governance
- Third-party / vendor risk
- Support transaction readiness and overall security posture
- Provide clear, business-aligned risk recommendations
- Ensure a clean handoff to the incoming CISO
What We’re Looking For
Required
- Proven experience as a CISO, Deputy CISO, or Interim CISO
- Track record leading end-to-end cybersecurity programs
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, high-stakes environments
- Strong executive presence with C-suite and PE stakeholder exposure
- Depth across SecOps, GRC, third-party risk, and enterprise security
Preferred
- Private equity / portfolio company experience
- Healthcare or healthcare technology exposure
- Interim leadership experience
- M&A / transaction readiness exposure (nice-to-have)
- Consulting background
