Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Security Guard role based in Ottawa, ON. The Security Guard will monitor and patrol assigned premises, conduct regular security checks, and ensure that access control procedures are followed. Responsibilities include observing and reporting suspicious activities, responding to incidents and alarms, and maintaining detailed, accurate incident reports. The Security Guard will interact with clients, visitors, and the public in a professional manner, provide assistance when needed, and support emergency response protocols to protect people, property, and assets.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly, de-escalate situations, and build professional rapport.
- Knowledge of physical security practices, including patrolling, access control, and incident response.
- Experience or training in personnel security and private security operations, including guarding procedures and risk awareness.
- Customer service skills with a focus on courtesy, professionalism, and client satisfaction.
- Valid security guard license (or ability to obtain one) in accordance with Ontario regulations.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, work varying shifts, and respond calmly under pressure.
- Clear criminal background check and eligibility to work in Canada.
- Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience is an asset, as is first aid/CPR certification.
