The Opportunity:
The Security Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing all security operations at Queen Elizabeth’s School, Gurugram, ensuring a safe, secure, and safeguarding-focused environment for students, staff, parents, visitors, and contractors.
The successful candidate will establish, implement, and continuously enhance security systems, operating procedures, emergency response frameworks, access control protocols, and campus surveillance measures. The role requires a highly vigilant, disciplined, and proactive professional with experience managing security teams, mitigating risks, and maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence within a premium educational environment.
As a key member of the Operations team, the Security Manager will play a critical role in supporting the school's commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and campus safety.
The Role:
Security Operations Management
- Lead and manage all day-to-day security operations across the school campus.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve security policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure effective deployment, supervision, and performance management of security personnel.
- Conduct regular security inspections, patrols, audits, and risk assessments across the campus.
- Monitor and maintain the effectiveness of all security measures and controls.
Access Control & Visitor Management
- Manage campus access control systems to ensure only authorised individuals enter school premises.
- Oversee visitor management processes, including registration, verification, screening, and escort procedures.
- Ensure effective management of student pick-up and drop-off security protocols.
- Monitor vehicle access, contractor movement, deliveries, and material movement within the campus.
- Ensure strict compliance with safeguarding and security protocols for all visitors and third-party personnel.
Surveillance & Incident Management
- Oversee CCTV operations, surveillance systems, control room activities, and security monitoring functions.
- Investigate security incidents, breaches, suspicious activities, and safety concerns.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain security records, logs, reports, and documentation in accordance with school policies.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and local authorities when required.
Safeguarding & Student Protection
- Support the school's safeguarding culture by ensuring all security operations contribute to a safe and secure environment for students.
- Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), School Leadership Team, and HR to ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements.
- Ensure all security staff, contractors, visitors, and vendors adhere to safeguarding and child protection expectations.
- Promptly identify, report, and escalate any safeguarding, welfare, security, or child protection concerns.
- Participate in safeguarding audits, training programmes, investigations, and compliance reviews.
- Conduct risk assessments relating to student safety, campus security, school events, and educational visits
Emergency Preparedness & Crisis Management
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for fire, medical emergencies, evacuation, lockdown situations, and other critical incidents.
- Organise and coordinate emergency drills, evacuation exercises, and security awareness programmes.
- Lead incident response activities and ensure effective communication during emergencies.
- Ensure all emergency equipment and response procedures remain operational and effective.
- Promote a culture of preparedness and vigilance across the school community.
Team Leadership & Training
- Manage recruitment, deployment, scheduling, and performance of security personnel.
- Conduct regular training sessions on security procedures, safeguarding, emergency response, and customer service.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, vigilance, and service excellence.
- Ensure security personnel present a professional and welcoming image while maintaining robust security standards.
Stakeholder Management
- Build effective relationships with school leadership, staff, parents, service providers, and external agencies.
- Provide regular security updates, reports, risk assessments, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Act as the primary point of contact for security-related matters across the campus.
- Support school events and activities through appropriate security planning and deployment.
The Person:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree is essential.
- Military, Police, Security Management, Risk Management, or related professional qualifications will be advantageous.
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in Security Operations, Security Management, Risk Management, or Campus Security.
- Experience managing security teams within schools, educational institutions, corporate campuses, commercial properties, hospitality environments, airports, healthcare facilities, or premium residential communities.
- Demonstrated experience in access control, visitor management, CCTV operations, incident management, and emergency response planning.
- Experience developing and implementing security SOPs, deployment plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety, emergency preparedness, and security compliance practices.
- Experience managing outsourced security vendors and large security workforces will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and security reporting systems.

Preferred Experience:
- Experience working in K–12 Schools, International Schools, Universities, Educational Institutions, Hospitality, Healthcare, or premium commercial environments.
- Exposure to safeguarding, child protection, campus security, and emergency response planning.
- Experience managing multi-vendor operations and large-scale facilities.
- Familiarity with British or international school operational standards will be an advantage.
