Loblolly in Hobe Sound, Florida, is seeking a full-time, year-round Security Officer for the Afternoon Shift (2:30 PM – 10:30 PM). This is a set schedule with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, though flexibility may be needed on occasion.

The successful candidate will provide security access control for all vendors and guests. Security Officers perform visual and audio surveillance using cameras, technology, and in-person patrols. The safety of residents, members, and employees is the highest priority.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work overtime and be on call during periods of natural disasters or emergencies.
- Establish and maintain a working knowledge of Florida State Laws governing Security Officers and the security profession, Loblolly policies, procedures, and rules, as well as Loblolly Communities’ and Loblolly Club covenants, rules, and regulations.
- Read and comprehend legal and non-legal documents; prepare and process documents such as activity reports, citations, warnings, notices of violation, and investigative reports using proper grammar and format.
- Gather information during security investigations by interviewing witnesses, victims, and complainants.
- Effectively communicate in person and by phone, giving and receiving directions, mediating disputes, and advising on laws, rules, and violations.
- Communicate coherently over security radio channels; dispatch patrols, relay incident info, and maintain accurate radio logs.
- Stay alert to unsafe conditions that may pose hazards to people or property.
- Extinguish small fires using fire extinguishers or other appropriate methods.
- Maintain cleanliness of uniforms, equipment (vehicles, radios, computers), and the security gatehouse.
- Stay alert while monitoring the gate area, verifying all entries, operating the gate, and using alarm systems and security software.
- Conduct both visual and audio surveillance.
- Operate a patrol vehicle, golf cart, or bicycle in all conditions, including emergencies.
- Perform patrol operations that will require physical exertion, such as walking, climbing, lifting, crawling, and other demanding activities.
- Secure buildings and outdoor areas by physically checking entry points and managing alarm systems.
- Respond as a first responder in emergencies and accidents.
- Exercise independent judgment regarding self-defense and safety protocols; be proficient in non-lethal defense tools per certification standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; two years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required: D-Security License.
- Preferred: EMT certification, Veteran status, or former Law Enforcement experience.
- Must have a clean driving record.
