Role Description
The Security & Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based at CannHealth Cultivation’s facility in Beverley. The role is responsible for maintaining a secure and safe environment across cultivation, production, and operational areas, including monitoring access control, surveillance systems, and perimeter security. The Security & Safety Officer conducts regular inspections and risk assessments, enforces health and safety protocols, and supports compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies. Daily tasks include managing incident reporting and accident investigations, coordinating safety drills, and delivering or supporting safety training for team members. The role also collaborates with management and operational staff to continuously improve security and safety procedures and respond effectively to any security or safety concerns.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply best practices in a production or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in Security operations, including access control, surveillance monitoring, and incident response.
- Strong skills in Accident Investigation and reporting, with a focus on root-cause analysis and preventive measures.
- Experience delivering or coordinating Safety Training, ensuring staff understand and follow safety policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant UK safety and security regulations; experience in pharmaceutical, agricultural, or controlled-substance environments is an advantage.
- Excellent observation, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Relevant certifications in health and safety or security (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Beverley on a full-time schedule and to perform physical tasks and patrols as required.
Security & Safety Officer

Salary: £35,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, full-time, salaried
Hours: Average 44 hours per week over a 3-week rotating shift pattern
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts, rotating between nights and selected day shifts, including weekends and public holidays
Cann Health Cultivation Ltd is seeking professional, reliable and motivated Security & Safety Officers to join our permanent in-house team at our regulated production facility near Beverley.
This is not a casual, zero-hours or agency security role. You will be part of a small, trusted, permanent team with guaranteed salaried income, structured training, and the opportunity to help shape the security and safety culture of a high-compliance site from the ground up.
The role combines physical security, access control, live CCTV and alarm monitoring, site patrols, visitor and contractor management, incident response, fire safety support, and general safety awareness duties. You will play an important part in protecting people, property, systems, and regulated operations.

Key responsibilities
- Control access to site and restricted areas
- Monitor CCTV, alarms and security systems
- Conduct internal and external patrols
- Manage visitors, contractors and deliveries in line with site procedures
- Respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies
- Support fire safety, evacuation and site safety arrangements
- Complete accurate logs, reports and handovers
- Promote a professional, vigilant and safety-focused culture
About you
We are looking for people who take pride in doing the job properly. You will be calm, alert, trustworthy and professional, with strong communication skills and good attention to detail.
Previous security, military, police, emergency services, facilities, control room, logistics, manufacturing or regulated-site experience would be advantageous, but attitude, reliability and professionalism are equally important.
Requirements
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence required
- SIA CCTV / Public Space Surveillance licence preferred
- Able to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident using basic IT systems and completing records
- Willing to complete security screening and background checks
- First aid, fire marshal or health and safety qualifications would be advantageous
